Catskill-Delaware Water Ultraviolet Disinfection Facility
The Catskill-Delaware Water Ultraviolet Disinfection Facility is an UV water disinfection plant built in Westchester County, New York〔 to disinfect water for the New York City water supply system. The compound is set to be the largest Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation plant in the world. It has 56 energy efficient UV reactors at a total cost to the city tax payers of $1,600,000,000. Mayor Michael Bloomberg created research groups between 2004-2006 to decide the best, cost effective ways to modernize NYC's water filtration process.
